Sea-Basin Checkpoints at the heart of the EMODnet data availability and quality assessment

News article |

Over 150 stakeholders from the marine and maritime sectors participated in the EMODnet Stakeholder Conference and Sea-basin workshops which took place in Brussels on the 14th and 15th of February.

Besides further clarifying the role and the mission of the EMODnet sea-basin checkpoints, the event provided the perfect opportunity to showcase and discuss the early results of the stress tests on data availability and quality performed in the regional sea-basins. Many positive conclusions were highlighted, while acknowledging that some knowledge gaps still exist.

All the checkpoints are trying to answer the following question: Are the marine data in each specific region fit for purpose?

The complete intermediate results for each region have been published on the Maritime Forum website where you can find all the data adequacy reports for the Atlantic, the Artic, the Baltic, the Black Sea, the Mediterranean and the North Sea regions.

All the presentations from the event are available on the EMODnet website. CLICK HERE!

More information and outputs will be available soon!
