Registration Opens for the EMODnet Open Conference 2023 in Brussels, Belgium on 29-30 November 2023!
The European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) is excited to announce that registration for the EMODnet Open Conference 2023, on 29-30 November 2023 is now OPEN! The 2023 edition will be a fully in-person event, taking place at the NHow Brussels Bloom Hotel in Brussels, Belgium.
EMODnet Open Conferences are public events, open to all*, and with free registration.
The Conference offers a unique platform for stakeholders from Europe and beyond to connect with the EMODnet partnership. The event includes a showcase of the latest developments and innovations of EMODnet’s diverse in situ marine data services in the context of the EU marine data landscape and infrastructure upgrades towards the EU Digital Twin Ocean, testimonials from the key partnerships that shape EMODnet from Ocean Observation to the full marine knowledge value chain, and the diverse user community from EU Policy and Research/Academia to Blue Economy, Civil Society and more. EMODnet’s contribution to the Global Ocean Data Ecosystem together with EMODnet’s ongoing evolution, including emerging data/data products and services will also be key components of the programme.
The 2023 Conference will be the first of its kind since the unification of EMODnet thematic services in January 2023. It will serve as a platform to showcase the upgraded EMODnet Central Portal and the added value of a single-entry point for discovering, searching, visualizing, and downloading all of EMODnet's marine data and data products, along with its centralized features and functionalities.
The Open Conference 2023 also launches an electronic community poster which is open to all to submit an abstract to one of the eight EMODnet Open Conference 2023 themes, with a deadline of 7 September 2023 for abstract submission. The 2023 edition will include electronic posters to be showcased in an EMODnet Virtual Exhibition, that will provide extensive information on EMODnet and the EU Atlas of the Seas, to accompany the physical Conference. Selected posters will receive the opportunity to give pitch presentations at the conference.
