Did you know that International Youth Day (IYD ) was celebrated on 12 August? This year, the theme was ‘Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World’. In order to smoothly transform our society into a sustainable world, the development of green skills among the population is essential. The shift towards an environmentally sustainable and climate-friendly world is critical not only for responding to the global climate crisis but also for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs ). ^[¹^]

The dynamism of youth initiatives for sustainable development can be seen across the world. An example of this is the dedication of members of the Youth4Ocean Forum in actively building a better future. As part of the EU4Ocean Coalition's commitment to enhancing ocean literacy, the Youth4Ocean Forum plays a pivotal role by uniting young changemakers aged 16 to 30 who share a deep passion for the ocean. Within this growing community, Young Ocean Advocates (YOA) have earned recognition for the projects they have developed in relation to the ocean.
