The 6th EMB Forum, on "Implementing the UN 2030 Agenda: What role for marine science?" will promote and foster a greater role of the marine science community in supporting the ongoing work at international level to advance the UN 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The 8th EuroGOOS International Conference,'Operational Oceanography Serving Sustainable Marine Development' will take place in 3-5 October 2017, in Bergen, Norway. The conference reviews the present ocean monitoring and forecasting capacities and oceanographic services, and identifies new science and technology priorities.

The EMODnet Steering Committee meets twice a year to revise progress and set the priorities for future developments. The 8th Steering Committee Meeting will follow on from a Sea-basin Checkpoints Workshop focusing on the Checkpoint methodology.
The EMODnet Ad Hoc Technical Working Group supports the technical implementation of the EMODnet Central Portal. This is a closed meeting, restricted to EMODnet project partners and relevant stakeholders.
The European GEO workshop, "EuroGEOSS: Shaping the European contribution to GEOSS", will bring together European stakeholders interested in and actively contributing to the Global Earth Observations System of Systems (GEOSS).
